Tottenham are close to completing the signing of Pedro Porro from Sporting Lisbon in a deal worth €45m (£39.6m), according to The Times.

Sky Sports News reported on Thursday that Spurs are growing increasingly frustrated withSporting for dragging out negotiations.

Spurs are prepared to meet the Portuguese club's financial demands for the 23-year-old, who has a £39m release clause in his contract.

Tottenham are looking to make the Spaniard their second January signing after the arrival of Villarreal winger Arnaut Danjuma on loan until the end of the season.

Antonio Conte currently has three right wing-backs at his disposal with Emerson Royal, Matt Doherty and Djed Spence all part of his squad, although Spence is potentially available for loan this January.

Tottenham have completed the loan signing of Villarreal forward Arnaut Danjuma - just days after he nearly joined Everton.

Sky Sports News reported on Monday that Danjuma would join managerless Everton on Tuesday. The move was still expected to go through despite the sacking of Frank Lampard, who played a key role in the deal.

However, in a dramatic twist, the Netherlands international suddenly travelled to London to hold talks with Spurs, and the 25-year-old has now finalised his move to Antonio Conte's side.

Villarreal have announced "the loan agreement includes a purchase option."

Kane 'open to signing new Tottenham deal'

Tottenham striker Harry Kane is open to signing a new contract with the club, according to The Athletic.

The England captain currently has a deal at Spurs until the summer of 2024, but Kane will reportedly enter talks with the club after the January transfer window.

The report adds that Kane's priority is to stay and succeed with Spurs.

Spurs target Zaniolo dropped from Roma squad this weekend

Tottenham target Nicolo Zaniolo was dropped from the Roma squad this weekend.

The club have officially put him on the transfer market and he will not be part of the team to face Spezia.

His representative is in England with the aim of sealing a move to a Premier League club with West Ham having been credited with an interest, but Tottenham are thought to be the frontrunners.

Roma will allow him to leave permanently for a fee of £35m but Spurs would prefer to sign him on an initial loan with an obligation based on him meeting certain performance-based conditions. This is not satisfactory to Roma.

Roma manager Jose Mourinho believes Zaniolo will remain at the club beyond next week's transfer deadline, despite the player's desire to leave.

"I have a gut feeling which tells me that on February 1st he will be here. The transfer window is open, and Nicolo's wish is to leave but in the end I think he'll stay with us. He told us he wants to leave but it's not certain he will.

"Why? Usually when a player wants to leave, and lets you know about it, it's because there's an important offer on the table. But so far there's nothing for Zaniolo. That's why I think he'll be here a week from now."

Conte future increasingly uncertain

Tottenham head coach Antonio Conte has put his future at the club on standby but there is a feeling he will leave at the end of the season, according to Sky in Italy.

The Italian's contract expires on June 30 with Spurs having an option to extend it by another year.

Sky in Italy understands the club have already offered him a new deal, but the 53-year-old does not want to think about his future at the moment and has asked Spurs to put it on standby with no negotiations currently ongoing over a new contract.

Spurs want a forward and a wing-back in January

Sky Sports News reporter Dharmesh Sheth:

"Tottenham are in the market for a forward and a wing-back in this transfer window.

"Longer term, they want to bring in a left-sided central defender and will pursue a deal in the summer, with Clement Lenglet's loan spell from Barcelona up at the end of the season.

"A player Tottenham are looking at is Bayer Leverkusen's Piero Hincapie, who is an Ecuador international, but Napoli are also keen on the 20-year-old."
