Washington Nationals: 5 Free Agents to Watch this Offseason

Washington Nationals had a disappointing season. Mike Rizzo and the team have plenty of money to spend on Free Agents. The team hasn't signed a multi-year contract since Winter of 2019. There are questions about the ownership of the franchise. The Nationals will probably sign one-to-one deals.

Josh Harrison is a free agent. The Chicago White Sox declined his 2023 option, but still have to pay his 1.5 million buyout. Harrison could rejoin the Washington Nationals on a team friendly deal.

2022 was a career year for Brandon Drury. He hit 28 home runs and had 87 RBIs. Drry has a 2.6 WAR for his career. The Nationals can sign him to a two-year contract. If he outperforms his contract, they can trade him.

The Washington Nationals could use a left-handed power bat and a corner outfielder. Joc Pederson has been valuable in his own right for the last 9 years. He has signed one-year contracts in each of the past two offseasons. The Nats could offer him a second year of market value.

Corey Kluber is a free agent this winter. Klubers has shown the ability to eat innings and he can be valuable to a team like the Washington Nationals. Zack Greinke has blocked a trade to DC in the past.

Zack Britton had Tommy John surgery early last year. Britt had a disappointing season in 2021 with a 5.89 ERA across 18.1 innings. The Nationals need a LHP in the bullpen. Sean Doolittle was a flash in a pan last season.
