Stars On Earth won the Oka Sho (Japanese 1,000 Guineas) at Hanshin on Sunday. The filly is by Duramente and out of the Smart Strike mare Southern Stars. It is her sire's first fillies' Classic winner. The winner was positioned midfield early and emerged from the pack in the final strides to nail the Yutaka Take-partnered Water Navillera. Namur finished 10th. This was Stars On earth's second win from six starts.
