The Cook Out Southern 500 is the first race in the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs at Darlington Speedway in South Carolina. Joey Logano won the poll for this race and has a great opportunity to close the gap between him and Chase Elliott. If one of the 16 playoff drivers wins this game, he locks his way into the next round of playoffs.

Logano is starting on row one for the Cook Out Southern 500. He is 15 points behind Elliot and in second place as the playoffs begin. Logano has two wins this season and seven top five finishes. Elliot has the most wins overall on the NASCAR Cup Series this year.
