Weekend's College Football Picks
This weekend's college football schedule is short on marquee games. No. 24 Texas A&M and No 25 Oregon are ranked at the bottom of the AP Top 25.
No. 13 Miami plays No. 24 Texas A&M. ESPN's "College GameDay" diverted travel plans. The Aggies are coming off a loss to Appalachian State.
No. 22 Penn State plays Auburn in a rare SEC-Big Ten regular-season game. The game will either ignite the hot seat or provide a respite for the second-year coach Bryan Harsin.
No. 12 BYU plays at No. 25 Oregon. It's the second straight game against a ranked opponent for the Cougars. The line is in favor of Oregon by 3 1/2.
Texas Tech is coming off an overtime victory against Houston. N.C. State lost to East Carolina in the first game. Texas Tech will beat N Carolina State 27-24.
The Trojans are what was expected so far. Caleb Williams and Jordan Addison are good, but the defense has holes. Fresno State beat UCLA last year and nearly beat Oregon State last week.
The rest of the ranked teams are facing FBS opponents. The nonconference schedule has been a three-week-long tune-up for the Wolverines. Ohio State lost to Oberlin College of 1921. Michigan State is in the Big Ten and Tennessee is the SEC. California is playing at Notre Dame. South Alabama is at UCLA. Purdue is taking on Syracuse. The Orange have only one player with at least 200 yards rushing and 100 yards receiving. Mississippi State plays at LSU. They are also playing against Mississippi and at South Carolina.
