What happens if you lose one bet in an accumulator?

It’s happened to us all when betting with accumulators. We create what we think is a killer acca that is destined to earn us hundreds of pounds, only for the last leg to fail.

Whether it’s horse racing, tennis or a bet on football, losing an acca by one is immensely frustrating.

That’s why Paddy Power has introduced 1 Leg Let Me Down, an acca commitment to help relieve the disappointment if your acca slips away at the last hurdle.

In this guide we’ll explain what happens if you lose one bet in an accumulator, and how Paddy can help sort you out!

WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

What Happens If My Acca Loses By One?

Normally, if your acca loses by one then your acca is totally destroyed. After all, an accumulator needs to win across all of its selections in order to pay out.

Practically everyone who bets on sport has endured the frustration of their accumulator losing by one and not being able to do anything about it.

Of course, that’s the risk you take when betting with accas. However, Paddy knows sometimes luck turns against even the smartest of bets, which is why we offer our own twist of acca justice.

It’s called 1 Leg Let Me Down and if effectively pays your stake back as a free bet if one selection on your acca or Bet Build fails to win.

For example, you bet £10 on these five selections when betting on rugby:

  1. England to beat France
  2. New Zealand to beat Italy
  3. Ireland to beat Wales
  4. Georgia to beat Samoa
  5. Scotland to beat Australia

Your first four selections all win but your fifth – Scotland to beat Australia – loses as the Aussies snatch a late victory. Your £10 acca therefore collapses.

However, with 1 Leg Let Me Down your stake is returned as a free bet, so you can go again!

How Paddy Power Acca Free Bet Works

Your free bet is returned to your account and is available for you to use within seven days. The value of the free bet matches the stake of your acca, between £1 and £50. You need to make sure you’ve made a minimum five selections to your bet – whether it be a bet builder or acca – in order for it to qualify for the free bet.

And that goes for your free bet too. The free bet is available on accas or bet builders of five-fold or greater size. Your free bet stake isn’t included in your winnings.

So, if you stake a £10 free bet on rugby again at the following odds then this is the return you can expect back:

  1. New Zealand to beat England – 2.00
  2. France to beat Ireland – 2.50
  3. Wales to beat Samoa – 1.70
  4. Australia to beat Georgia – 1.70
  5. Scotland to beat Italy – 2.20

Your total odds for your acca would be: 317.90

If it wins, you’d earn back £307.90 in profit, while your £10 free bet stake isn’t refunded.

Paddy Power acca offeris available on all sports except horse racing and greyhounds, and you can’t wager on Enhanced Match Odds markets or Power Prices. Look out for acca insurance offers throughout the season in our sportsbook!
