What has gone wrong with the once-mighty Leicester Tigers?

Leicester Tigers won the last of their Premiership titles in 2013. Last season the Tigers finished in 11th place in the league. They were runners-up in 2011 and 2012. Guy Thompson was shown the door a few weeks ago. Leicester are currently bottom of the Premiership table. Saracens were relegated for a salary cap breach. The Premiership owners approved a further 35 points deduction to ensure they could not dig themselves out. Sarries were 18 points behind Leicester after Christmas. It was played just before the coronavirus lockdown. Leicesters were beaten 24-13 by Sarracens in round 13.
