What Horses Is Rachael Blackmore Riding At Cheltenham Day 4?

2021 top jockey at the Cheltenham Festival, Rachael Blackmore, has had another few winners at the 2023 Cheltenham Festival. She is one of the leading jockeys in the world right now and has four rides on Day 4. Read on to find out the Rachael Blackmore Cheltenham rides on the final day.

Rachael Blackmore Cheltenham Rides Day 4: Four Runners On Friday

Rachael Blackmore was crowned the Champion Jockey of the Year back in 2021 for her mesmerising performance at the Cheltenham Festival. She won a staggering six races, including a second and third place finish too. This year, she will be hoping to replicate that form with a stellar showing at the 2023 Cheltenham Festival.

On Day 4, Rachael Blackmore has four rides on Friday 17th March. These rides include A Plus Tard in the Gold Cup, looking to claim back-to-back wins in the biggest race of the entire Cheltenham Festival.

Blackmore, who of course won the 2022 Gold Cup with A Plus Tard, also has three other rides at tempting prices on Day 4 of the 2023 Cheltenham Festival.

She’s got Ballyadam for trainer Henry De Bromhead in the County Handicap Hurdle (2:10pm) and Hiddenvalley Lake in the Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle (2:50pm). Her final ride of the day comes in the Mares’ Chase (4:50pm) on Magic Daze. These are the Rachael Blackmore Cheltenham rides on Day 4.

Blackmore is priced at 20/1 with leading bookmaker Paddy Power to be the 2023 Cheltenham Festival Champion Jockey.

What Horses Is Rachael Blackmore Riding On Day 4 Of The 2023 Cheltenham Festival?

Friday 17th March 2023

BALLYADAM (County Handicap Hurdle- 14.10): @ 22/1 with Paddy Power

In terms of Cheltenham odds, this is Rachael Blackmore’s most unlikely winner on Day 4 of the Cheltenham Festival. She takes the reigns on Ballyadam in the County Handicap Hurdle in a really competitive and open race.

The Irish gelding hasn’t won since November 2020, but has had a few reasonable runs of late. He finished third at Leopardstown last time out, as well as finishing in fifth at Cheltenham last year in this race. Has an each-way chance for sure but unlikely to win.

HIDDENVALLEY LAKE (Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle – 14.50): @ 9/1 with Paddy Power

Blackmore’s next ride on Day 4 of the Cheltenham Festival comes in the Albert Bartlett where she sits aboard Hiddenvalley Lake. The Henry De Bromhead horse is the fourth favourite to win this Novices’ Hurdle.

Hiddenvalley Lake boasts strong form with two wins and a runner-up finish in his last three starts. Won at Cork in December over this distance with Blackmore on board and they have a great chance of doing so again here.

A PLUS TARD (Gold Cup – 15.30): @ 7/1 with Paddy Power

Rachael Blackmore’s biggest chance of the day comes in the Gold Cup where she again rides A Plus Tard. The pair won the Gold Cup last year impressively by 15 lengths, and are priced at 7/1 to replicate that again and win with the best horse racing betting sites.

A Plus Tard has only ran once since then and pulled up on that occasions. However, he has incredibly strong Gold Cup form and is one of the biggest dangers here in the race. Great chance of another Gold Cup for Rachael Blackmore.

MAGIC DAZE (Mares’ Chase – 16.50): @ 11/1 with Paddy Power

Blackmore’s fourth and final ride of the 2023 Cheltenham Festival on Day 4 come in the penultimate race of the afternoon in the Mares’ Chase. She saddles Magic Daze, who is an outsider at 11/1 for trainer Henry de Bromhead.

Magic Daze boasts strong form with two wins and two seconds in her last four starts, including a strong win last time out at Naas. Has raced at Cheltenham twice before so has every chance of winning for the first time on a course she knows well.
