Pete Wilkins wishes it could be Christmas every day.

The Connacht coach reckons the festive fixture list has been the kindest he has encountered but now his side must deliver some good hidings.

The Westerners will return from Belfast after the URC derby with Ulster and enjoy four days off before gathering at the Sportsground on December 27.

Wilkins said: “Coming back will be like a normal Monday-to-Saturday routine leading into the Munster game on January 1.

“It’s the best flow of training days and rest days I have experienced over a Christmas break.

“But now we need to go and use that schedule.”

Wilkins has made seven changes from the side that lost to Saracens, with Mack Hansen on the wing.

Denis Buckley, Tadhg McElroy and Finlay Bealham form the front row, with Joe Joyce in the second  row.

Shamus  Hurley-Langton and Seán O’Brien come into the back row.
