NOW THAT the dust has settled on the World Cup Irish rugby fans will have to fully focus on the new URC season.

And this weekend throws up the first inter-provincial derby of the 2023/24 campaign.

Both sides come into with two wins from two.

Connacht have so far dispatched Ospreys and Glasgow Warriors in high-scoring home fixtures.

They'll once again be the home team as they welcome the visit of Ulster to The Sportsground.

Dan McFarland's side pipped Zebre in Parma in an early contender for game of the season.

It wound up finishing 40-36 with last week's run-out continuing the league-trend of scoring being way up on the average.

They defeated The Bulls 26-19 at Ravenhill.
