What year could Pirates realistically compete?
Pittsburgh Pirates are in the middle of the season. Bryan Reynolds and Ke’Bryan Hayes are key building blocks of Pittsburgh”s next contender. The rest of their team is a mix of young players jostling for at-bats and innings. David Bednar and Jacob Stallings are the only players who could move the needle and stay in Pirates' organization. They are under contract through the 2024 season and have just earned their first Rawlings Gold Glove. Jacob is also a clutch player. He hit .246 in 2021. His only other option is to play in AAA.
