What's Chris Young's Offseason Plan? Expectations for Marcus Semien and Corey Seager in 2023?

The Rangers are watching the playoffs from their couches for the sixth straight October. They could catch a game featuring Yu Darvish, Profar, Joey Gallo, Chris Martin, Ronald Washington, Jesse Chavez, Emmanuel Clase, Terry Francona, Jose Trevino, Isiah Kiner-Falefa and Scott Servais. The plan is for them to be in the mix next year instead of only being represented by their alumni. Chris Young dismissed the organization’s top four day-to-day pitching coaches.

Chris Young will manage the team in 2023. He will be more reluctant to trade players than Mike Daniels was.

There will be significant changes at the top of the baseball team. The new manager, Ron Young, will focus on the farm system. He will protect young pitchers like Marc Church and Chase Lee. He might also focus more on young hitters like Marcus Semien and Corey Seager. It's not clear which of these changes were being planned while Daniels was still around. Under Daniels, the team was more interested in acquiring relievers. They were also more focused on signing young players. In the past, they were more willing to trade players with years of club control. Now, under Young they will try to keep more players under contract.

Chris Young is coming to Texas to manage the farm system. He wants to improve the development of the team's pitchers. Wesley Chang questions the performance of Corey Seager. Marcus Semien and Corey seager are expected to be in the big leagues in 2023. The Rangers have to do a better job of developing their major league pitchers than the Astros and Mariners. They have removed the pitching coaches in Arlington and at the top two levels of their farm systems. Owen White and Mason Englert reached the level late in summer and pitched well. Other players with good potential are Kumar Rocker, Ricky Vanasco, Tekoah Roby, Dane Acker, Mitch Bratt, Larson Kindreich, Ryan Garcia, Emiliano Teodo, Josh Stephan, and Winston Santos.
