The Grade 1 Ascot Chase is likely to provide Cheltenham Festival clues for the Gold Cup instead of the Ryanair Chase.

Despite being one of the season’s premier races over an intermediate distance, the 2m5f contest is set to feature L’Homme Presse in preparation for next month’s Blue Riband.

A whole host of top-class horses have won the Ascot Chase over the years including Cue Card, Kauto Star and Monet’s Garden, while 2022 scorer Fakir D’oudairies is bidding to regain the crown.
