When is the World Darts Championships 2023? Start times, live stream, TV channel for huge Ally Pally showpiece

THE PDC Darts World Championship will return to iconic Alexandra Palace venue for a thrilling tournament.

The competition is set to be an exciting one to watch after England Player Michael Smith managed to steal a shock win from three time champion Michael Van Gerwen at the start of this year.

On speaking to Sky Sports Michael Smith claimed: "You know as well as I do that it's not going to be the last time me and Michael play each other."

The Championship will follow other events in the PDC calendar Premier League darts and World Matchplay which will help determine favourites to win the World Championship.

  • The last of the PDC's 'triple crown' events is expected to start near the end of December this year and finish in January 2024.
  • Tickets are not yet on sale for the tournament, but expected to release closer to the event.
  • When they are released you will be able to purchase from the PDC website.
  • The venue also features cashless payment cards for the tournament, so when you arrive you can load up spending money for drinks, merchandise and programmes.
  • This year will be a tough competition with crowd favourite 'Mighty Mike' expected to try for redemption after unexpectedly losing last year's championship to Smith.
  • British underdog Smith will be looking to extend his No. 1 ranking after last years 7-4 win.
  • However 'Snakebite' Peter Wright is still ranked 2nd in the world and may be looking to take back the title after winning it in 2022.
  • The event will be available to watch on the Sky Sports Darts channel.
  • Existing customers will be able to stream through the Now TV app and Sky Go app which is free to download to your mobile and tablet devices.
