Where South Carolina football landed in SEC title betting odds

BetOnline released its odds for teams to win the SEC this season, and South Carolina was placed behind more teams than it was ahead of on Monday.

South Carolina is at 90/1 odds to win the conference in 2024, just behind Kentucky (80/1) and one spot ahead of Florida (100/1). Arkansas (125/1), Mississippi State (200/1) and Vanderbilt (250/1) rounded out the list.

Kentucky and Vanderbilt are the only two on South Carolina’s schedule this season. The Gamecocks don’t have to play the two betting favorites in 2024. A full list is posted below.

Georgia 2/1
Texas 5/2
Ole Miss 13/2
Alabama 9/1
Tennessee 9/1
LSU 10/1
Missouri 11/1
Texas A&M 22/1
Auburn 50/1
Oklahoma 50/1
Kentucky 80/1
South Carolina 90/1
Florida 100/1
Arkansas 125/1
Mississippi State 200/1
Vanderbilt 250/1

Ole Miss and Alabama are both on this schedule this year. LSU, Missouri, Texas A&M and Oklahoma will also play South Carolina during Shane Beamer’s fourth season as head coach.

Clemson is listed as the co-favorite to win the ACC, along with Florida State at 25/1. The betting favorites for the Big Ten and Big 12 are Ohio State (5/4) and Kansas State (3/1), respectively.

South Carolina is scheduled to start spring practice on March 19. The annual Garnet and Black spring game is set for Saturday, April 20 at 7 p.m. The Gamecocks open their 2024 schedule at home against Old Dominion on Aug. 31.

For now, Beamer is focused on finding another wide receivers coach, after James Coley departed for the vacant spot on Georgia’s coaching staff. Coley was hired last month to take over for Justin Stepp, who was moved to tight ends coach when Jody Wright was named head coach at Murray State.

Shawn Elliott was named tight ends coach last week. Beamer has also hired a new running backs coach (Marquel Blackwell) and special teams coordinator (Joe DeCamillis).
