Why the SF Giants will not sign Scherzer or Verlander
The San Francisco Giants are predicted to sign Max Scherzer and Justin Verlander. Neither Verler nor Scherz are going to join the Giants this offseason. Verner was offered a qualifying offer from the Houston Astros. The Giants will focus on re-signing Kevin Gausman and Anthony DeSclafani. They may also try to add another starter or two through free agency or trade. They will cast a wide net for starting pitchers. It is not how the front office operates. Farhan Zaidi is the president of baseball operations. He will not take a big swing at a veteran starter just because the team had a good season.
