Day 1: Champion Day Winners

  • Supreme Novices – Kicking off day 1 of Cheltenham Festival 2023 is the exciting Supreme Novices race that saw Marine Nationale and jockey Barry Connell win in a thrilling first race. Being Connell’s first win, this was indeed a race to remember. 
  • Arkle Challenge – In an unexpected turn of events after a nasty fall from Dysart Dynamo in the Arkle Challenge, El Fabiolo and Jockey Paul Townend went head to head with Jonbon, where El Fabiolo ultimately took the win in this exciting event. 
  • Handicap Steeple Chase – Corach Rambler took the prize for the Handicap Steeple Chase for the second year in a row after a jam-packed race. Jockey Derek Fox rode Corach Rambler to glory, holding a solid position throughout the race.
  • The Champion Hurdle Challenge – Constitution Hill and jockey Nico de Boinville easily won the Champion Hurdle in 2023, which is no surprise for this exceptional horse. The hurdle champion State Man and Paul Townend came in second. 
  • Mares’ Hurdle – Honeysuckle, one of the Irish winners of Cheltenham 2023, took home the top prize in this exceptional race with jockey Rachael Blackmore. This was an excellent way to bring down the curtain on the racehorse’s spectacular racing career. 
  • Juvenile Handicap Hurdle – In one of the last races of the excitement-filled day one of Cheltenham 2023, Jazzy Matty and jockey Michael O’Sullivan took home the steal in this competitive race. 
  • National Hunt Steeple Chase – Gaillard Du Mesnil and jockey Mr P W Mullins won 1st place in the National Hunt Steeple Chase, the Cheltenham Festival 2023 day one closing race. This talented horse had no trouble in winning this race. 

Day 2: Ladies Day Winners

  • Ballymore Novices Hurdle – In the exciting first race of Cheltenham Festival day two, Impaire Et Passe and jockey Paul Townend take home the win in a competitive run. 
  • Brown Advisory Novices Steeple Chase – The Real Whacker enjoys his third victory in the Brown Advisory Steeplechase with jockey Sam Twiston-Davies. What an excellent way to kick off ladies’ day!
  • Coral Cup Hurdle – Langer Dan secured 1st place in the third race of the day with jockey Harry Skeleton after a hard-fought run. This is Langer Dan’s fourth time at Cheltenham making the win even more special. 
  • Queen Mother Champion Chase – Noted as being ‘foot-perfect’, Energumene and jockey Paul Townend became Ladies Day winners in the Champion Chase. Energumene had also previously won the race in 2022. 
  • Festival Challenge Cup Open Hunters Chase – The champion Delta Work and jockey Jack Kennedy defended their place in the Hunters Chase, coming away with a victory. 
  • Mares Chase – In the penultimate race of the day, Maskada and jockey Darragh O’Keeffe won the Mares Chase. This competitive race saw the 7-year-old pipping its runners up to the post, including Dinoblue. 
  • Conditional Jockeys Handicap Hurdle – What better way to finalise day two of the Cheltenham Festival 2023 than celebrating the victory of Dream to Share and jockey Mr J L Gleeson? Fact to File and Captain Teague came a close 2nd and 3rd. 

Day 3: St Patrick’s Thursday Winners

  • Turners Novice Chase – Kicking off day 3 of the Cheltenham Festival 2023 was the thrilling Novice Chase, which saw Stage Star and jockey Harry Cobden take home the win. Notlongtillmay appeared to take the lead for the race’s final stages; however, Stage Star took the win. 
  • Pertemps Network Final Hurdle – This Handicap Hurdle saw a frantic finish as the horse and jockey were victorious. Good Time Jonny and jockey Liam McKenna pull clear to win at the final hurdle, beating the likes of Mill Green and Salvador Ziggy. 
  • Ryanair Chase – Trainer Henry de Bromhead sees his third win in the festival thanks to horse Envoi Allen and jockey Rachael Blackmore. Envoi Allen has several wins behind him and no doubt ahead. 
  • Stayers Hurdle – A surprise win from Sire Du Berlais and jockey Mark Walsh in the Stayers Hurdle race certainly set the tone for the rest of the exciting race day. Sire Du Berlais stayed strong in the gruelling races’ final stages to take home the win. 
  • County Plate Chase – The County Plate Chase on day 3 saw Seddon and jockey Ben Harvey pip competitors Fugitif and Shakem Up’Arry to the post in the spectacular run.  
  • Mares Novice Hurdle – You Wear It Well, trained by Jamie Snowden and ridden by Gavin Sheehan, won the Mares Novice Hurdle in a brilliant performance to end the day’s penultimate race.
  • Kim Muir Challenge Cup – Irish trained Angels Dawn, and jockey Mr P A King rode to victory in the final race of day 3 of Cheltenham 2023. Despite pressures from competitors, including Mr Incredible and Stumptown, the horse brought home this fantastic title. 

Day 4: Gold Cup Day Winners

  • Triumph Hurdle – The opening event of the final race of Cheltenham 2023 was the exciting Triumph Hurdle, which saw Lossiemouth and jockey Paul Townend seal the 1st triumph of day 4. 
  • Country Handicap Hurdle – This exhilarating event saw a true battle between Faivoir and Pied Piper, resulting in Faivoir and jockey Bridget Andrews taking home the win. Other runners-up in this race included Filey Bay and Sharjah.
  • Albert Bartlett Novices Hurdle – All changed in the final hurdle of the Novices Hurdle race on day 4 of Cheltenham 2023 when Stay Away Fay, ridden by Harry Cobden, took the victory after Corbetts Cross missed the final jump of the race. 
  • Cheltenham Gold Cup – The spectacular and well-loved Cheltenham Gold Cup race saw favourite Galopin Des Champs and jockey Paul Townend become Cheltenham Gold Cup winners after close competition. 
  • Festival Hunters Chase – Premier Magic, ridden by Bradley Gibbs, successfully won the Hunters’ Chase after beating stiff competition, including Its On The Line and Shantou Flyer. 
  • Mares Chase – Cheltenham 2023 saw another win for the Irish trainers in the Mares Chase by Impervious and jockey Brian Hayes. Being the jockey’s first Cheltenham win, this is certainly a race to remember. 
  • Martin Pipe Handicap Hurdle – Cheltenham Festival 2023 was finalised by the thrilling Handicap Hurdle, seeing the first success of trainers Oliver Greenhall and Josh Guerriero, thanks to Iroko and jockey Aidan Kelly.
