Velvet Queen has good form lines, but is she as good as the market seems to think? Magic to Exceed was honest enough two weeks ago. Brooklyn Pier and Holy Ghost are enigmatic.

Winterbottom Stakes Day 2022 is on Sunday. Sir Ernest Lee Steere Classic is the first of the stakes races restricted to the three-year-olds. All the King's Men had a courageous run in the Guineas last week. Kosta's Crown is a significantly better horse than his record suggests. China Spriti comes in off winning a Belmont maiden on the program.
Pure Devotion and Utgard Loki are the horses to watch in AJ Schaill Cup (2100 metres). Neufbosc has been whacking away in much harder races over unsuitable trips. Stafford's Lad should get a more genuine tempo. Chilli is Hot has a bit of upside but I would like to see her in this company before recommending her.
Winterbottom Stakes Day 2022 takes place on Sunday, February 8th. My Bella Mae has come from nowhere this spring and has a chance to win a Group 1 in her first racing campaign. Elite Street, Red Can Man, This'll Testya and Miss Conteki are strong local hopes. Rothfire has drawn perfectly for champion jockey Damien Oliver. Godolphin pair Vilana and Paulele have been handed sticky barriers for their assignment.
Dom to Shoot drops out of harder company and needs a good ride from Jordy Turner to influence the result. Eeyore Wayz is one of the most consistent horses in the state and should appreciate dropping out. Above the Peg stormed home last week and comes in on the backup.
