Brooklyn Nets (4-4) vs Washington Wizards (2-5)

Game Info: Sunday, November 12, 2023 at 3:00 pm (Barclays Center)

Betting Odds: Brooklyn Nets -6.5 -- Over/Under: 232.5

The Washington Wizards and the Brooklyn Nets duke it out at the Barclays Center on Sunday afternoon.

Washington Wizards

The Washington Wizards have been in a slump with five losses in their last six outings and they will be eager to bounce back after getting beaten by the Hornets in a 124-117 loss on Friday. Kyle Kuzma led the team with 17 points, Tyus Jones added 16 points while Jordan Poole chipped in with 14 points and six assists. As a team, the Wizards shot 48 percent from the field and 14 of 38 from the 3-point line as they got off to a quick start and led this one by as many as 16 points in the third quarter, only to go ice-cold and get outscored by 36-20 in the fourth quarter to allow the Hornets to slip away.

Brooklyn Nets

Meanwhile, the Brooklyn Nets have cooled off a bit with three losses in their last four outings and they will be hoping to bounce back after getting thrashed by the Celtics in a 121-107 road loss on Friday. Lonnie Walker led the team with 20 points, seven rebounds and four assists off the bench, Trendon Watford added 14 points off the bench while Mikal Bridges and Spencer Dinwiddie scored 12 points apiece. As a team, the Nets shot 44 percent from the field and 15 of 37 from the 3-point line, but they struggled to contain the Celtics from the start, leaking 38 points in the first quarter and trailing by as many as 24 points in an ugly loss.

Peter's Pick

The Wizards are still missing Delon Wright, while the Nets are still without Ben Simmons and Cam Thomas. The Wizards have been struggling since day one with Poole not making much of an impact in the starting lineup and I think we're going to see more of the same in this one. The Nets have lost their last three, but they are still clearly the team in better form and I think they will enjoy this matchup after playing some elite competition recently. Give me the Nets to pull away for the win and cover when it's all said and done.

The pick in this article is the opinion of the writer, not a PickDawgz site consensus.
