Group B contains two of the very best teams on the planet.

It would be a huge upset if either Australia or Canada failed to make it out of this group, with their clash at Melbourne Rectangular Stadium on 31 July likely to determine who takes top spot.

Australia certainly have the edge in that regard, not least because they’re co-hosting this tournament.

Nevertheless, neither of the group’s underdogs are likely to challenge the top two.

Republic of Ireland are making their debut at a major tournament, they’ve never even qualified for the Euros before, and will take on Australia in front of over 82,000 fans on opening night, which won’t be at all easy.

Nigeria meantime are World Cup ever-presents but, to date, have won just 4 of 26 matches, beating both Korea DPR and Denmark in 1999, Canada in 2011 and Korea Republic four years ago.

So, these two will be targeting their matchday three clash in Brisbane as their best chance to get points on the board.

Predicted: 1st: Australia. 2nd: Canada. 3rd: Republic of Ireland. 4th: Nigeria.
