World Cup 2023 playoffs: Bosnia out to better ′hugest success′

Bosnia-Herzegovina are playing in their first-ever World Cup playoff against Wales. Milena Nikolic is the assistant manager at Bayer Leverkusen's club shop. She is also the club's all-time leading scorer. Nikola will miss the game at Cardiff City stadium with an injury.

Bosnia need to beat Switzerland in Cardiff and then beat Azerbaijan and Montenegro to reach the European playoffs. Nikolic's team is ranked 63th in the world, 30 places behind Wales. She believes Bosnia's young team will perform well in this game. Nikolovic left Bosnia to play in Serbia in 2013 and joined Bundesliga outfit SC Sand in 2016.

Nikolic hails from a small town near the border with Montenegro. She believes the Bosnian domestic league has a problem with competition and that anyone with potential must move abroad to fulfill it. SFK Sarajevo have won every title since the 2002-3 season. Nikolic has missed the whole of this season through injury. She also believes attitudes towards women's football in Bosnia have improved recently.

Nikolic is recovering from a tendon injury. She can't travel to Cardiff for the World Cup 2023 playoffs. Nikolic hopes Leverkusen might have to hire a summer sales assistant next year when she's in Australia and New Zealand for World cup 20 23.
