World Cup live updates: England routs Iran; Netherlands-Senegal next

The U.S. men's national team is playing in the World Cup for the first time since the 2014 tournament. They play against Gareth Bale and Wales on Monday. England and Iran start the tournament at 8 a.m. ET. Senegal plays the 2010 World cup runner-up Netherlands next.

England beat Iran 6-2 in the final match of the 2022 World Cup. Next up for England is a match against the USMNT on Friday at 2 p.m. ET. Iran takes on Wales in a 5 a. m. start.

Colombian singer-songwriter Maluma walked out of a live TV interview in Qatar. He was asked about the issue of Qatar's human rights record. Malum called the reporter rude. He is the artist behind the theme song of the 2022 World Cup.

England made four subs in the 70th minute after Harry Maguire was evaluated for a concussion. Marcus Rashford came on for Saka and immediately scored a goal.

Wales are playing their first World Cup match since 1958. Iran is playing its first match at the World cup. The political situation in Iran has been a regular line of questioning.
