Sheldon's wrestlers finished 12th in the Redwood Rumble tournament on November 26th. Noah Daniels placed first at 160 pounds. Caden Diamond finished fourth, Joseph Campos fifth and Mohamed Alnassiri sixth. Hill signed by Nationals, Nunez DFA’d by Giants.
Derek Hill signed a minor-league contract with the Nationals on Nov. 15. Dom Nunez was designated for assignment by the Giants on November 15 and was claimed off waivers by San Francisco the week prior. Rowdy Tellez led the Milwaukee Brewers with 35 home runs in 152 games this past season. Nick Madrigal's season with Chicago Cubs was ended on Sept. 27 due to groin injury. Some of the responses to last week's Notebook admitted that SFL teams recruit better athletes. Oak Ridge coach Hodge points out that the city of Elk Grove has eight or nine high schools within its city limits. Granite Bay has one high school, El Dorado Hills, one, Folsom, two, Rocklin, 2 and Loomis, 1. One of these people called the column sour grapes. The football programs at Elk, Monterey Trail and Bradshaw have done well with the talent they have.
