York Ebor meeting 2019: Enable sees off Magical to land odds in easy Yorkshire Oaks victory

ENABLE (1-4f) was in a class of her own once again as the Queen of the Turf reigned supreme over her rivals in the Yorkshire Oaks.

Frankie Dettori took his wondermare straight to the front in the Group 1 contest and the pair never saw another rival.

It was business as usual.

John Gosden's five-year-old had been very short odds for the Yorkshire Oaks ever since it was revealed the prestigious contest would be her prep run for the Arc - and she didn't disappoint.

Taking up the running from an early stage, she drew clear with the re-opposing Magical (4-1) in the final two furlongs and quickly put the race to bed, knuckling down well in the final 100 yards.

Magical finished a clear second, with Lah Ti Dar (11-1) a distance back in third.

She was as dominant as she has always been and an overcome Dettori said: "I felt a mixture of joy and sadness as it's the last day we're going to see her in England.

"Everything about her is wonderful."

John Gosden said: "Of course it's emotional. But you have to be composed for the horse. The last thing Frankie needs is a trainer blubbing away!

"You can't go that long without a race for her so it fitted perfectly. Her last furlong was her most impressive.

"I think Japan is an exceptional colt. The Arc is no foregone conclusion."
