Yuki Bhambri has quit the singles format. He wants to play doubles. The 28-year-old was injured twice in his career. His goal is to become a doubles Grand Slam champion. He was playing singles qualifiers at the Tata Open Maharashtra last weekend. Yuki was once considered a top-50 prospect. Sania Mirza is the only other Indian player to quit singles. She quit in 2010. Bhambri was in the top 100 in 2018. In 2021, he will play in a few doubles tournaments. It was planned to start playing in 2019. But he got injured again. After consulting several doctors, B Hambrri decided to get treatment in US.
