Zack Wheeler throws upbeat bullpen session, plus other Phillies story lines over next three weeks

The Phillies are playing for their first postseason berth since 2011. They have 10 games left. The Brewers would have to finish 15-6 to catch them.

Zack Wheeler threw 30 pitches off the bullpen mound Tuesday. He will throw either a bullpen session with a simulated between-innings break or possibly face hitters in a batting practice setting on Friday. If all goes well, Wheeler could start the opener of the final homestand of season against the Toronto Blue Jays next Tuesday night. The Phillies will take care that Wheeler's arm is not compromised when he does return. Nick Castellanos is making progress with his injury. He is expected to come off injured list next week. His first season with the Phillies was disappointing. Bailey Falter was 3-0 with 3.06 ERA in his absence.
