The victory improved the Phils' record to 79-62 and they are 1½ games ahead of San Diego for second wild-card spot. There are 21 games to play and the team is in the driver's seat with the radio on loud. They are 3½ points ahead Milwaukee. It's a 10-year postseason drought for them. Their team won't be able to win until the playoffs. For the rest of the season, they need to keep winning. This is their best chance. Alcanteara has a 2.43 ERA and leads the majors with 203 2/3 innings.

After Falter left, Jose Alvarado, Seranthony Dominguez and David Robertson closed out the win. Kyle Gibson opposes Edward Cabrera on Wednesday night.
