2022-23 NHL Hart Trophy Odds, Picks: Which longshots are worth a bet to win MVP?
The NHL's MVP is awarded to the best player. Connor McDavid, Auston Matthews and Leon Draisaitl are the current favorites. Taylor Hall won the award in 2018.
Jack Eichel is a great buy at Vegas Golden Knights. He was limited to 55 games over the past two seasons with the Buffalo Sabres. Last season he played 34 games with Golden Knight's and he had 25 points. Before that he posted 160 points in 145 games on some bad Buffalo teams. He has the highest ceiling of any player in this range.
Thatcher Demko is a strong contender for the Hart Trophy. Igor Shesterkin finished third in the voting for it last season. The Canucks finished second in goals allowed per 60 minutes at 5-on-5 in 2021-22. Demkos has a .915 save percentage and a +16 Goals Saved Above Expected in 99 games.
Nikolaj Ehlers is a longshot at 300/1 but he's a good bet for Winnipeg Jets. Ehler is slated to play on Winnipeg's first line with Kyle Connor and Mark Scheifele. Johnny Gaudreau and Jonathan Huberdeau had similar things going for them before last season.
