After tallying a respectable 8-8-1 record last season in the gauntlet of the NFC East, the Washington Commanders sit as potential cellar dwellers in the win/loss futures. While they were able to retain defensive line fixture and Pro Bowler Daron Payne courtesy of a four-year, $90 million deal, the Commanders will feature a new quarterback in either Sam Howell or Jacoby Brissett.
Adjusting to a new offensive scheme can grind new quarterbacks to gristle until they’re comfortable, so it’s easy to see why the futures line was set at 6.5 wins. Four games apiece against the double-digit winning Eagles and Cowboys doesn’t help matters, either.
The Commanders sit at 24th in the NFL in strength of schedule, a season slate that includes tilts against the Buffalo Bills and San Francisco 49ers — each division winners in 2022.
The Commanders sit at -120 to win fewer than 6.5 games and -110 to win more — essentially a pick ’em.
With the daunting divisional docket and a handful of difficult games on deck, the Under seems more likely — especially given the change at quarterback.

Washington Commanders futures odds: Terry McLaurin Under 899.5 receiving yards (-120 or better)
With a new quarterback in the fold in either Howell and Brissett, it may be tough sledding for Washington receivers like Terry McLaurin.
The Ohio State produce has topped 1,000 receiving yards in three of his first four seasons, but you should factor in an emergence of 2022 first-round pick Johan Dotson and the unsettled QB situation if you wager on McLaurin in 2023.
