Down 2-0 in this opening-round series, the Brooklyn Nets will try to defeat the Philadelphia 76ers at home in Thursday’s Game 3. Read on for our 76ers vs. Nets prediction based on the best NBA odds.

After a pair of double-digit losses to the Philadelphia 76ers, the Brooklyn Nets are hoping a change of scenery will be enough to flip the script in Game 3. Oddsmakers still favor the 76ers, listing them as 4.5-point favorites in the latest matchup of this opening-round series.

Here is our best 76ers vs. Nets prediction (odds via FanDuel Sportsbook; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

If Brooklyn wants to avoid a 3-0 hole, players like Cameron Johnson or Mikal Bridges are going to have to step up. We are choosing to bet on the former here, as Bridges’ prop markets are already inflated enough and Johnson has been delivering for the Nets during this series.

Johnson has cleared 2.5 3-pointers in both games thus far, taking a total of 17 triples in the process. He went 4-for-6 in Game 1 en route to an 18-point effort on 7-of-11 shooting. Johnson then fired 11 attempts from long range in Game 2, knocking down five of them during a 28-point outburst.

This is the way for the Nets to stay within striking distance after losing by double-digits in back-to-back games. Philadelphia can score whenever it wants by tossing the ball inside to big man Joel Embiid, so Brooklyn needs to win the math game by trying to get hot from deep.

Brooklyn took 42 of its 80 shots from long range in Game 2 after firing 29 3-pointers on 70 attempts in Game 1. Johnson is the only Net to hit three or more triples in either game, which is why we feel comfortable backing him on this Over at anything -110 or better.

Johnson has cleared this mark in three of his last five outings, and we are betting on him to continue his hot streak with this three-star pick.

76ers vs. Nets best odds

FanDuel (-108)

All of our best sportsbooks have set Johnson’s 3-point line at 2.5 for this game, with the Over hovering between -108 and -125. We originally bet this at FanDuel when the Over was priced at -104, but we would still jump on the -108 as of late afternoon on Thursday.

If you believe Johnson is due for another big game in this series, FanDuel also offers some alternate prop markets. In this case, Johnson is +260 to hit four-plus 3-pointers and +700 to knock down five triples.
