ALL racing in Britain and Ireland OFF as freezing cold temperatures cause fixture chaos in run-up to Christmas

All racing in Britain and Ireland is off today due to freezing cold temperatures. Lingfield and Chelmsford were the only tracks offering racing on the all-weather today. The weather station puts the temperature at -4.7C at the moment and it dipped to -8.9C this morning. Wolverhampton could go ahead tomorrow but Navan and Thurles in Ireland look in doubt.

Monday is set to see the long-awaited return of Gold Cup favourite Galopin Des Champs in the rearranged John Durkan at Punchestown. The King George at Kempton looks set for a showstopper, while the Long Walk Hurdle will also take place on that day. There will be four Grade 1s on Boxing Day including the Brand New Racing Post App Novice Chase at Leopardstown and Faugheen Novices Chase in Limerick.
