Arkle contender? Appreciate It strikes on chasing debut
Appreciate It won his debut over fences for Willie Mullins and Paul Townend at Punchestown. He was the 1-5 favourite and won by seven lengths. Last season he only finished seventh in the Champion Hurdle. He will turn nine in a few weeks. The winner was 4-1 for the Arkle in March and 10-2 for Turners Novices’ Chase.
Saylavee won the Free Entry On NYE Mares Novice Hurdle at Punchestown. She was the winner of two bumpers and a maiden hurdle last time out. Her trainer Paul Townend kept her wide and it worked. Itswhatunitesus won a second Novices' Hurl. Liz Doyle's Old Soul was a 22-1 winner in The Old House, Kill Handicap HURL. He will probably stay at two and half miles. He was badly beaten. His jockey Daryl Jacob was riding him. The leader, Carnfunnock, couldn't keep up with Jack Kennedy's horse.
