Battle Red Blog Groupthink: Levels of Concern

The Jaguars are going to beat the Texans to win the division. The Colts are 4-10 and winless under interim coach Jeff Saturday. They are capable of playing good football, but they look worse than the Houston Texans. A Colts’ win could move them up two-three draft picks. It will certainly be a toilet bowl. It's the last week of the season in a meaningless game. There is no European soccer model. European teams follow their example to inflate their team's values.

The Jaguars have beaten the Colts six times in a row. The team is not supposed to be competitive with the Chiefs or Cowboys. They will get the first pick. If the Bears win one more time, they could play the Jaguars without reservation.

The 1st overall pick in the draft can sometimes be a poisoned chalice. Houston hosts Jacksonville. The game result is meaningless in their quest for the AFC South. They are more of a laughing stock than the Colts. Still, they will probably get the #1 overall draft pick and Bryce Young. The Bears could also win one of their last two games.

The Texans are playing well but they are always one bad play away from losing. Jacksonville is playing better and is healthier than Tennessee. The only possible concern is Indy.

The Texans are going to lose the top pick to the Buccaneers.  The team needs to win to avoid a draft penalty.
