Betway Aintree Bowl predictions and odds: Thursday 7 April

Aintree's Grand National Festival kicks off on Thursday afternoon with a quartet of Grade 1 races. The Betway Bowl at 2.55pm is one of them. Previous winners Clan Des Obeaux and Kemboy are in the mix again for Paul Nicholls and Willie Mullins.

Kemboy won the 2019 Aintree Bowl for Mullins. Ruby Walsh won it on him later the same month at Punchestown. Last year, Clan Des Obeaux won by 26 lengths. This year he has been beaten at Kempton and Newbury. He won an Irish Gold Cup last season. He was third in the Savills Chase at Christmas.

Petraterat finished third in the Cheltenham Gold Cup last month. He made a mistake at the last fence. The weather is expected to be good. If he does handle the conditions, the Rich Ricci-owned eight-year-old has a leading role to play.

Conflated won the Irish Gold Cup at Leopardstown in February. Minella Indo came second at Cheltenham. Owner Michael O'Leary decided not to go for the Blue Riband. Conflation was not good enough to thwart the power-house Allaho in the Ryanair Chase.
