Blue Jays vs. Pirates picks and odds: Fade Toronto on its bullpen day

The Toronto Blue Jays and Pittsburgh Pirates are playing a three-game series at PNC Park on Saturday.

Toronto won Game 1 4-0. The Blue Jays will play a bullpen game against the Pirates. Pittsburgh will send rookie Roansy Contreras to the mound.

Trevor Richards will start for Toronto. Yusei Kikuchi and Lawrence are the most likely relief pitchers to start. Pittsburgh's lifeless offence has just one run in its last two games. Contreras is coming off five shutout innings against the Phillies last time out. The Blue Jays have failed to cover the run line in seven of their past nine games, while the Pirates have covered the line seven times in their last nine.

The Pirates' offence has been terrible recently, but they should have a good offensive line with Richards, Kikuchi and Lawrence. Contreras has a 5.35 ERA and 5-61 FIP this year, and his underlying stats are not very good.
