Browns vs. Seahawks Predictions, Picks & Odds Week 8: Low-Scoring Affair in Seattle

The Seattle Seahawks host the Cleveland Browns on Sunday in Week 8, and we make our best Browns vs. Seahawks predictions based on the best NFL odds.

The Cleveland Browns won one of the craziest games of Week 7, defeating the Indianapolis Colts 39-38 on a touchdown from running back Kareem Hunt with 15 seconds remaining. The victory moved the Browns to 4-2 overall and 2-0 in games where PJ Walker is the primary quarterback. Walker may be the starter again Sunday, with Deshaun Watson questionable after sitting out Thursday's practice.

The Seattle Seahawks are also 4-2 after defeating the Arizona Cardinals 20-10 in Week 7. They’ve scored just 33 points in their last two games combined, but the defense has held three consecutive opponents to 17 or fewer.

To accompany our NFL Week 8 predictions and NFL best bets, here is our best Browns vs. Seahawks prediction and our NFL picks (odds via our best NFL betting sites; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Browns vs. Seahawks prediction

Under 39.5 (-110 via Caesars) ⭐⭐⭐

The Browns vs. Colts total was listed at 37.5 points last week, and both teams went over that individually. It was an insane game and one that is not going to be replicated this week.

The Browns have had one of the best defenses in football for most of the season. They’re allowing just 264.5 yards per game, and even with last week’s result, they’re still the 10th-best scoring defense in the NFL.

The Seahawks scored 37 points in Weeks 2 and 3, but the offense has quieted considerably in recent weeks. They’re just 4-12 in the red zone in their last three games, a rate of conversion that does not bode well against this Browns’ defense.

For those concerned about the Seahawks’ defense, don’t be. They’re playing fantastic football right now, allowing 10 points per game over their last three. While the Browns keep winning with Walker, the offense hasn’t looked great. Walker is completing just 50% of his passes and has zero touchdowns and three interceptions. Plus, the Browns will be without running back Jerome Ford this week, meaning the backfield will be the Kareem Hunt and Pierre Strong Jr. show. That’s a problem since the Seahawks allow just 87.2 rushing yards per game.

Browns vs. Seahawks best odds

Caesars is a serious outlier right now. While three of our best sports betting sites list this total at 38, Caesars offers 39.5. What’s most shocking is that it's offering a price of -110.

Our advice is to get in now. Caesar’s number is not going to last long. By the time Sunday rolls around, we firmly believe that all the best sports betting apps will have this total at 38.5 or lower. We’d take the under down to 38.

Browns vs. Seahawks odds

The Seahawks opened as 1.5-point favorites, but with all the injuries the Browns are dealing with, the spread has unsurprisingly grown to somewhere between 3 and 4 at our best sportsbooks. Once Watson is officially ruled out, we expect this number to settle in at 4 or 4.5. However, with how well the Browns’ defense has played this season, we doubt the spread gets any larger than that.

The total opened at 38.5, and the movement at each major sportsbook has been erratic since then. While most of them dropped this total down to 38, Caesars shot it up to 39.5. A slight majority of wagers back the Under at the moment. We expect that support to grow throughout the week. If you’re on the Under, get in at Caesars as soon as possible.
