College Football Odds: Penn State vs. Rutgers prediction, odds

Penn State is playing for something significant in the last two weeks of the season. Rutgers is 4-6 and on the ropes. The team needs to win to get a bowl slot. The Big Ten has been terrible this year. Iowa might still win the division, but its offense has not been good. Penn State lost to Michigan and Ohio State, the two most important games on its schedule. It is in a good position to finish 10-2 and get into the top 12 of CFP standings. If it does, it would get in to a New Year's Six bowl.

Penn State is favored by 20 points against Rutgers. The defense is going to dominate. Michigan was favored more than 25 points by Rutgers, but it lost.

Rutgers will play a very inspired game and hold Penn State under 28 points. If they can do that, they will cover the spread.

The over-under is the better play in this game. Rutgers is not going to score very much. This game feels like a 27-7 game to me.
