Colorado Rockies News: One surprise performance at each Colorado Rockies minor league affiliate

The Colorado Rockies minor league season is about to end. One player from each level has jumped out to a hotter start than expected.

Wynton Bernard has been a different hitter this season for the Albuquerque Isotopes. He ranks third in the Pacific Coast League in AVG, SLG, OPS and XBH. His power has jumped and he is one homer short of his career single-season mark. He is still waiting for his chance in Colorado's big league roster.

Riley Pint was drafted by the Rockies as the fourth overall pick in the 2010 draft. He has been playing in Double-A Hartford Yard Goats this season. Pints has played 16 games and won three of them. His control is still a work in progress, but his 26.7% strikeout rate and one homer allowed show he has the potential to play in big leagues.

Mike Ruff was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the 11th round of the 2021 draft. Ruff is playing for High-A Spokane this season. He has the lowest BB/9 and second lowest WHIP in Northwest League this year. If he can improve his command and pitch well in Double-AA, he could be an intriguing prospect for the Rockies.

Braiden Ward has been a revelation for the Fresno Grizzlies this season. Brian Serven made his major league debut on Wednesday. The start of the series against the Mets has be postponed due to snow. Friday's game has to be rescheduled to 1:10 pm MT on Saturday. The originally scheduled second game was moved back to 6:40 pm. It will be the first game of a doubleheader.
