Conflated Gold Cup Tip

Conflated goes into the 2023 Gold Cup as a relative outsider at odds of around 14/1.

The 9-year-old boasts some strong form ahead of the Gold Cup, with three wins, two seconds and a third in his last seven races. He looked great last time out at Leopardstown, beating Kemboy by five lengths back in December in a race many doubted him in.

Taking Conflated to place looks like the bet here, with Galopin Des Champs looking formidable and a difficult horse to beat. There are plenty of other talented horses in the race, with previous winners A Plus Tard and Minella Indo also in the field. That’s not to mention the likes of Bravemansgame and the 2022 Grand National winner, Noble Yeats.

However, overall backing Conflated each-way for trainer Gordon Elliott and jockey Davy Russell looks like a shrewd bet for the 2023 Cheltenham Gold Cup.
