Dodgers vs Mets Picks & Odds (Sep. 1)

Clayton Kershaw is scheduled to pitch for the Dodgers against Chris Bassitt. Kershaw has been on the injured list since Aug. 5 with lower back pain. Bassit will be working on five days of rest.

Kershaw last pitched on August 4 in San Francisco. He was injured and had a 5.27 ERA. Kershaw has an outstanding 11-1 record against the Mets with a 2.24 ERA in 17 starts. Bassitt is coming off an excellent August in which he was 4-0 with 1.52 ERA and a no-decision against Colorado Rockies last Friday.

Joey Gallo is 4 for 11 against starting pitchers. Mookie Betts is just 1 for 7 against them. Darin Ruf is 2 for 17 against Clayton Kershaw.

Starling Marte hit a two-run home run for the Mets. Brandon Nimmo and Francisco Lindor had two hits each for New York. Edwin Diaz got the save. Mookie Betts homered for Los Angeles. The teams have split six games this season.

Kershaw is coming off a rehab start in the minor leagues. Bassitt is an underdog.
