Grand National 2023 antepost odds, tips and weights: Noble Yeats favourite with Corach Rambler cut to 12's

The Grand National is approaching and the weights were confirmed earlier this week which has opened up the betting even further.

There are currently 85 runners at this very early stage with the 2023 Grand National setting off at 5.15pm on April 15.

This is the one horse race that trumps the rest with the world tuning into the big occasion at Aintree Racecourse.

Noble Yeats won the 2022 renewal with Sam Waley-Cohen on board, riding his last ever race before retirement at a huge 50/1 price.

This year he carries 11-11 and is the favourite with under two months to go.

Other notable frontrunners include Corach Rambler, Gaillard Du Mesnil, Longhouse Poet, Mr Incredible, Any Second Now and Delta Work.

In 2021, history was made when Rachael Blackmore rode Minella Times to victory, becoming the first ever female jockey to win the race.

On Tuesday it was announced that the famous horse would be retiring.

Rachael spoke exclusively to Betfair about his retirement: “It’s a day I will never forget. He is such a special horse to a lot of people, now he will get to enjoy a wonderful well deserved retirement in Martinstown.

“Henry [de Bromhead, trainer] and all the team in Knockeen did such an incredible job with me and I will always be so grateful for that.”

Grand National weights, odds and tips

  • 8/1 – Noble Yeats,
  • 12/1 – Corach Rambler
  • 14/1 – Any Second Now, Conflated
  • 16/1 – Gaillard Du Mesni, Longhouse Poet
  • 20/1 – Carefully Selected, Delta Work, Fury Road, Le Milos, Lifetime Ambition, Remastered
  • 25/1 – Capodanno, Galvin, Hewick, Minella Crooner, Mr Incredible, Quick Wave, Royal Pagaille, The Big Dog
  • 33/1 BAR

The weights were confirmed on Tuesday for the biggest race on the planet.

It has also seen a big change in the prices for a few horses.

Corach Rambler, trained by Lucinda Russell who is best priced at 12/1, was given a weight of 10st 5lb and as a result went in from 16/1!

Any Second Now is the top-weight carrying 11st 12lb, four higher than last year.

The JP McManus-owned horse came second to Noble Yeats in 2022 as the 15/2 favourite.

The pair finished well ahead of the rest of the field with the next horse, Delta Work, finishing 20 lengths behind the green and gold hoops.

Delta Work is ten-years-old now and in the colours of the Gigginstown Stud is 20/1 and given a weight of 11st 4lb – 5lb lower than last year.

Hewick appeals as a 25/1 outsider though and is often tipped up at big prices.

The Irish horse won the US Grand National in October in convincing fashion at 21/10.

In the colours of T J McDonald has barely put a foot wrong until unseating Jordan Gainford at Listowel’s Kerry National Handicap Chase at the last fence.

He had a huge chance to win there before that jump and is often overlooked amongst other long distance horses.

The John Hanlon-trained horse has won at odds of 16/1 twice in 2022, including the bet365 Gold Cup at Sandown.
