Grand National favourite's jockey survives injury scare as lucky omen from six years ago points to victory again

DEREK FOX insists he WILL be fit to ride Grand National favourite Corach Rambler on Saturday.

The 30-year-old will sit out a spin on Thursday's Aintree Bowl hopeful Ahoy Senor after injuring his shoulder in a fall at Wetherby last week.

But Fox, who won the 2017 National on One For Arthur, is confident he’ll be back 48 hours later to ride the 6-1 jolly in the world’s most famous race.

Fox told SunSport: “I had the fall at Wetherby and banged it, but it’s looking good for the weekend.

“I’ll be spot on. I’ll be ready to ride on Saturday.

“It’s frustrating missing good rides like Ahoy Senor but the Grand National is the main race.

“I’m just happy I’ll be ready to go on Saturday.”

For those looking at omens ahead of the big day, Fox suffered an injury scare before his moment of glory six years ago.
