Ahead of the highly-anticipated ICC World Cup 2023 final between hosts India and Australia, a prediction from allrounder Mitchell Marsh that he made earlier this year has gone viral.
Australia and India will take on each other at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday (November 19). India qualified for the final after winning all of their nine league games before thrashing New Zealand for 70 runs in the first semifinal.

While plying his trade for Delhi Capitals in the IPL earlier this year, he had predicted a World Cup final between India and Australia. Not only that, he had also predicted a huge win for Australia.
“Australia undefeated; defeating India. Australia 450/2 in the final, India all-out 65,” Mitchell Marsh had said in a podcast way back in May.
While his prediction about the finalists has come true, Team India and their fans will be desperately hoping that his prediction about the result does not come true. India have been the best team in the competition so far and have blown away the opposition in most of their games. They have already beaten Australia once in the tournament and will be eyeing a second win to clinch the World Cup title for the third time.
Australia, on the other hand, know what it takes to win a tournament like the World Cup. Having won the tournament the most number of times, the team from Down Under will be eyeing a record-extending sixth title. Australia are also on an eight-match winning streak and will be looking to make it nine.
