Leopardstown tips on December 29th
The Matheson Hurdle is the final day of the Leopardstown Christmas Festival. Istabraq and Hurricane Fly both won this Grade One four times. Sharjah won it 12 months ago.
Sharjah won the Matheson Hurdle last year. Willie Mullins' horse is second in the betting. Vauban, a four-year-old, will make his reappearance. Gordon Elliott will throw Pied Piper into the mix. Norman Lee's She Is Electric is the long-odds outsider.
State Man is the odds-on favourite for the 2022 Matheson Hurdle. Willie Mullins' horse won the County Hundle at Cheltenham and the Grade One at Punchestown last season. Sharjah won last year's Morgiana Huddle, but he will not be able to turn the tables on the favourite.
