Sharjah is aiming to become the first five-time winner of the Matheson Hurdle. He was beaten by State Man in the Morgiana at Punchestown last month. Patrick Mullins has been on board Sharjah for all four of his Mathesson wins. He expects a much improved effort from Sharja. State man has given Sharaja four years of training. Sharha won't be easy as he is not at his best. The horse is a six-times Grade 1 winner and runner-up to Honeysuckle in two Champion H hurdles.

Paul Townend is the champion jockey of the Matheson Hurdle. He won it twice before with Hurricane Fly and with State Man. State man won the Morgiana at Punchestown last month. Townen is hoping to win the race. Stateman is a favourite. Constitution Hill is also a contender. Vauban is an interesting horse. The winner will be announced on Sunday. It's a big race at Leopardstown. Honeysuckle could bypass the Champion Huddle for the Mares' Hurlle, which is priced between 4-6-1.

Pied Piper and Vauban meet again after last season's top juvenile hurdlers met twice. Pied Pipers won maiden hurdle at Punchestown on New Year's Eve. Vaubs got revenge on the day that mattered most by winning Triumph Hurdle by two and a half lengths from Fil Dor. Gordon Elliott is expecting a hat-trick from Pies Piper.
