Los Angeles Kings vs Winnipeg Jets Odds

The Winnipeg Jets (35-24-1) hope to break out of a severe scoring slump when they host the Los Angeles Kings (33-20-8) on Tuesday at Canada Life Centre. Winnipeg has managed just nine goals in its last six games, going 1-5 during that span to fall from second in the Central Division down into wild-card position in the Western Conference standings.

A visit from the Kings could be what the doctor ordered for Winnipeg’s struggling attack as LA has surrendered at least three goals in seven of its last nine road games, including Sunday’s 5-2 loss to the Rangers in New York. Winnipeg defeated the Kings 6-4 when the teams met in October, the Jets’ fourth win in the last five matchups.

Latest Betting Notes: Kings

LA faces a tough scheduling spot tonight, closing out a five-game trip with its fourth road game in six days and fifth in eight. Life on the road hasn’t been too kind to the Kings, who have scored just nine goals during their 1-3 trip after potting 26 markers in their previous five contests.

Goaltenders Pheonix Copley and Jonathan Quick are also struggling, giving up 13 goals on just 81 shots so far on the road trip. LA has gone OVER the total in five of its last seven games, including Sunday’s loss at Madison Square Garden.

Latest Betting Notes: Jets

Winnipeg should be desperate to salvage the final game of a three-game homestand after losing the first two games by a combined score of 9-1. Even though Winnipeg is a solid 20-10 at home on the year, the Jets haven’t earned a regulation-time victory over an above-.500 opponent in nearly two months, dating back to a January 6 win over the Lightning.

Jets fans can only hope that new acquisition Nino Niederreiter, who scored four goals in his final three games with the Predators, will give the offense a spark in his Winnipeg debut. However, the Jets could be without a couple of other forwards as Pierre-Luc Dubois and Mason Appleton are dealing with injuries.

Kings Player Prop: Anze Kopitar To Record A Point (-140)

LA’s captain has been held off the scoresheet in each of his last two games, which is precisely why he’s in prime position to collect at least a point tonight. Prior to going scoreless against the Rangers and Islanders, Kopitar had collected points in 15 of 19 games, racking up 24 points during that span.

He also hasn’t been held without a point in three straight games since mid-November. With his Kings in a tough scheduling spot and needing a result to bolster their position in the Pacific Division, look for LA’s leader to step up his offensive game tonight.

Jets Player Prop: Kyle Connor OVER 3.5 Shots On Goal (+110)

With the Jets mired in such an offensive funk, coach Rick Bowness is encouraging his team to shoot the puck as much as possible. It won’t take much to persuade Connor, who leads the team with 208 shots on net and has had four games with six shots or more since the start of January.

His shot numbers have stayed consistent even during the Jets’ recent slide, firing at least three shots on target on six of eight games this month, and he’s averaging nearly four shots per game on home ice this season. At plus money, this shots prop is worth a shot.
