Michael Owen completes 'surprise' transfer of new trainer to racing yard two months after shock split with Tom Dascombe

Hugo Palmer, 41, will take the reins at Owen's Manor House Stables. Owen announced a shock split with Tom Dascombe two months ago. Palmer won the 2000 Guineas with Galileo Gold in 2016. He had been based at Kremlin Cottage Stable in Newmarket. He wants to expand the string of horses he is training. His previous partnership with Dascomb ended before Christmas. They had success together, notably last summer with Ever Given, the horse named after the ship that got stuck in the Suez Canal.
