Michigan high school football: 2022 Free Press All-West team

The Detroit Free Press All-West first, second and honorable mention teams for the 2022 Michigan high school football season are announced.

Nick Marsh is a junior receiver for River Rouge. He caught 57 passes for 723 yards and six touchdowns for the Panthers. Michigan State commit is athletic, strong and physical.

Owen Hawley is a senior offensive lineman for Livonia Franklin. He is three-year starter and two-time All-Kensington Lakes Activities Association selection.

Gabe Landskroener is a senior center for Riverview High School in Michigan. He helped the Pirates rush for 4,827 yards this season and recorded 33 tackles, including nine for loss and three sacks.

Jeremiah Warren is a senior offensive lineman at Belleville High School. He helped his team win the state championship and has 14 FBS-level offers.

Charlie Davidek is a senior center and team captain at Livonia Stevenson. He is also a three-time All-KLAA pick and a team leader.

Dylan Senda is a senior offensive lineman at Dearborn Divine Child. He was named to the 2022 Free Press All-West team. Northwestern has offered him 22 FBS-level offers, including 15 from Power Five schools.

Tyler Swick is a senior receiver and team captain at Grosse Ile. He made 46 receptions for 573 yards and 5 touchdowns this season. Swik also had 1,040 all-purpose yards, including two kick returns for scores. Grossel Iles made the playoffs.

Bryce Underwood is a sophomore quarterback at Belleville High School. He led the Tigers to their second consecutive state title. Underton is considered one of the most-recruited sophomore QBs in the nation.

Jacob Shank is a senior running back at Riverview High School in Michigan. He rushed for 1,679 yards on 157 carries and scored 33 touchdowns. Shank also played receiver and cornerback.

Owen McGraw is a senior running back and a strong safety at Garden City High School in Michigan. He has an offer from Drake University.

Jordan Williams is a senior running back at Livonia Clarenceville. He scored 31 touchdowns and 2,009 yards rushing and 411 yards receiving this season. Livonian Clarencevians won 48-46 overtime against Redford Union in the first round of the D-4 playoffs.

Griffin Nowak is a senior at Livonia Franklin. He made all five field goals and 34 of 36 extra points. Nowaks also averaged 36.8 yards per punt for the D-2 district champs.

Rory Callahan was named first-team All-Huron League and a first team all-around player. He also had 21 receptions for 505 yards and five touchdowns as a tight end. Callahan has been recruited to Central Michigan as tight-end.

Orlando Daniels, a senior at Plymouth High School, had 46 tackles (35 solo), 9½ sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 4 pass breakups and a fumble recovery. He started the season against Livonia Churchill with 3 sacks.

Isaiah Ploucha is a senior defensive lineman for Dearborn Divine Child. He finished the season with 77 tackles, including 24 for loss and five sacks. Plocha also competes in wrestling and track and field.

Evan Deak is a junior at Northville High School. He finished with 86 tackles, including 13 for loss, a sack, two pass breakups and two interceptions. Deaks is versatile and can play tight end, slot receiver or in the box.

Jeremiah Alston-Jackson led Redford Union to its second straight WWAC title and first undefeated regular season since 1998. He made 105 tackles, including 72 assists, 27 sacks, 12 forced fumbles, five INTs and three defensive scores. Alton-Jax is committed to Central Michigan.

Jeremiah Beasley is a junior linebacker at Belleville High School. He has 18 FBS-level offers, including 13 from Power Five schools, such as Michigan State and Michigan. Beasley is captain of the team.

Timothy Simons is a senior linebacker at Gibraltar Carlson. He made 134 tackles, including 33 for loss, 8 sacks, eight forced fumbles, 4 pass breakups and 15 QB pressures. Simon is uncommitted but has NAIA and Division III interest.

Christen Ward-Lewis is a senior linebacker at River Rouge High School in Michigan. He made 61 tackles, three sacks, two pass breakups and one interception. Ward Lewis is also a coach on the field.

Dominic Simpson is a senior defensive back at Livonia Franklin. He made 52 tackles, four interceptions and one touchdown.

Adam Saleh is a senior DB at Dearborn Pioneers. He was named to All-KLAA and MHSFCA Division 1-Region. Saley also played quarterback, running for 1,100 yards and passing for 1.119 to go with 21 touchdowns.

Owen Alvarez is a senior defensive back at Allen Park High School. He was named to the 2022 Free Press All-West team. Alvarez had 67 tackles, three tackles for loss, two sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries. On offense, Alvarez ran for 700 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Ian Iler is the coach of Redford Union High School in Michigan. RU won the WWAC title and went undefeated in the regular season.

Connor LeCourt, Collin Nowak, Colin Thomas, Alex Thompson, Cabrini, Brandon Scheffler, Carlson, Justin Lynch, Churchill, Idrys Cotton, Plymouth, Marlon Jones, Garden City, Matthew Hall, Camden Johnson, Allen Park, Daunte Hughey-Mays, Thurston, Jordan Farrow, River Rouge, Andre Grissom, Romulus, Josh Buettner, New Boston Huron, Wyatt Marentette, Tyrell May, and Carter Moore, are the players named to the 2022 Free Press All-West team.

The 2022 Free Press All-West team is made up of quarterbacks Graham Junge, Flat Rock, Carson Bradley, Cabrini, Cooper Nye, Airport, Eddie Light, Carlson, Ty Norgren, Trenton, Robert Lalain, Divine Child and Cooper nye.

Cordel Mavins, Noah Dobert, Xavier Spadacini, Jon Lytle Montgomery, Jaxon McGaig, Plymouth, Joe Godfrey, Flat Rock, Jacob Shank, Riverview, Tyler Fraczek, Grosse Ile, Omari Carter Carlson, Nate Meade Mays, Lincoln.
