Michigan’s Jim Harbaugh compares QBs to Kaepernick, Smith

Jim Harbaugh has benched Alex Smith twice in 10 years. Cade McNamara is now the backup for J.J. McCarthy. Harbaugh compares the situation to that of Alex and Colin Kaepernick.  McCarthy will start against Hawaii on Saturday. He will be followed by McNara, who led Michigan to a Big Ten championship and the College Football Playoff berth. The team won both games by a combined 90 points. It was an easy choice for Harbaugh. They will play Colorado State and Hawaii. Michigan won by 90. McCar McCarthy completed 15 of 16 passes for 259 yards and three touchdowns, and he ran for 66 yards.

The Huskies are the underdogs going into the game against Michigan. The Wolverines won the last game 24-21.

Zion Turner is a true freshman quarterback for the Washington Huskies. Turner won three Florida state championships and a national championship at St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale.

Harbaugh and Mora will play each other for the first time. They almost played each others teams in the Pac-10, but Harbaugh went to Stanford and then to the 49ers and he was a freshman back-up quarterback at Michigan when they lost 25-24 at Washington. Mor was walk-on defensive back at the time and was playing for Washington at that time, too.

The Michigan Wolverines have rushed for 501 yards and nine touchdowns in the first two games. Blake Corum has led the way with 164 yards on 22 carries. Connecticut's defense gave up 156 yards in last week's 48-14 loss to Syracuse.
