More Penn State-Iowa Whiteout game predictions; updated PSU bowl projections, and more

Today’s Penn State football news headlines feature picks and predictions for Iowa, plus the latest batch of expert bowl predictions going into Week 4.

Penn State is a two-plus touchdown favorite over visiting Iowa for Saturday night’s Whiteout game in Beaver Stadium, and most national pundits seem to believe that the Lions will win and perhaps exceed that point spread. PennLive columnist David Jones was a notable exception to that type of group thinking, but Yahoo Sports college football writer Sam Cooper joins the crowd in liking PSU to beat the Hawkeyes and cover the spread.

While Penn State is still viewed as a viable threat to make the College Football Playoff for the first time, the thinking in the early part of the season is that the Lions are still on the outside looking in at the big four. All of that changes, of course, if Penn State can manage to beat either Michigan or Ohio State and climb in the national polls. Blue-White Illustrated’s Greg Pickel has a full set of national bowl projections for the Lions after three games.
